The Chorus is dedicated
to singing a varied and entertaining repertoire. Our songs range from up-tempo,
jazz and moving ballads to gospel and traditional melodies. A love of singing
is all you require as we provide the tuition.

WHAT IS "BARBERSHOP"?
Barbershop consists of four-part harmony, unaccompanied à capella singing
encompassing popular, jazz and gospel music. Movement and performance expression
are important aspects of the style.
DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE
TO READ MUSIC?
While a working knowledge is beneficial, it is by no means necessary - a good
ear comes in handy.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Cost per year is not high and can be paid on a weekly basis.
WILL I HAVE TO COMPETE?
Participation in competition and general performances is optional, but this
is where the excitement and enjoyment - the payoff - of our weekly rehearsals
is and most members wouldn't miss it.
HOW ARE THE SONGS TAUGHT?
Learning tapes for each of the four parts are available.Learning a harmony
part is similar to learning a new song from listening to it on the radio.
You hear it over and over again and it sticks.
WILL I NEED TO TRAVEL?
One of the exciting aspects of being a Chorus member is the opportunity to
travel with the group - for engagements, eisteddfods and conventions.
